THE LONE WARRIOR

Today I’m the LONE WARRIOR.

They say in Lithuania that a lonely warrior on the battlefield has no power. They mean, that it must be many brothers in arms, to win a battle. To win the war.

As it goes. Today I’m THAT lonely warrior on the battlefield.

Had to have six soldiers standing behind me today. One side - holding my battalion and its commander, the other - my Algirdas battalion commander and his soldier.

But. Today I am here - alone. War puts things together the way he likes, war, that’s how it works. War takes things from us. War crushes everything. He gives reasons to grieve, crushes hope, destroys those involved. War thinks he is all-powerful. However, at the same time, war unites and unites.

Yes. I am here alone today. For those who can’t. For those who no longer can.

And not for long, for we will all be standing here together. Shoulder to shoulder.

UNITED. For those, who can’t. For those, who no longer can. For us and them.
